  • Favorite Song: "Cold Coffee" by Ed Sheeran
  • Favorite JCL memory: Bonding over Harambe and successfully selling fanny packs with my CAJCL fam at Nationals 2016. One of my fondest happened during dinner. For the first time, the entire CAJCL delegation sat together at the same table. We started to play "Down by the Banks" and chanting other states' cheers. The cafeteria erupted into a spirit battle, and we didn't stop until we got yelled at. It was the epitome of JCL spirit and I've never felt more pride, belonging, and JCLove.

  • Favorite TV Show: While I have watched many great TV shows recently, The Simpsons will always be my favorite. I grew up watching the first ten seasons with my siblings, and the three of us have rewatched it so many times, we can often mention a short quote and can identify it with ease!
  • Favorite JCL memory: I vividly remember playing the card game "Mafia" with other Cali delegates while waiting for "That's Entertainment" at the 2013 National Convention, which was held at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. The Virginia delegation had also arrived and started to crowd around us. One of the California delegates, feeling annoyed because of the Virginians' presence, started a spirit battle all of a sudden. Pretty soon, we found ourselves shouting at the Texas, Virginia, and Wisconson delegation. Then, as the SCLers were trying to prevent us from rushing the auditorium, all of the delegates joined together and sang "Do You Hear The People Sing" from Les Miserable. Because of this experience, I felt my relationship with my friends and the JCL grew even more, and my love for national convention was fostered.
  • Favorite Quote: “I have made but one mistake."  -Titus
  • Favorite Emperor: My favorite emperor would have to be Claudius. About a year or so ago, I remember reading that he once tried to pass a law that allowed people to fart in public. I just thought that was a really funny fact to include in a historical biography.
  • Which classical garment would you actually wear? I could probably rock some sick golden sandals.

  • Caesar or Virgil and why?: Caesar, because he really had the Gaul to change the shape of Rome and its government!

  • Favorite JCL memory: As much as I love the glory of awards and excitement of spirit, I'd have to say my favorite JCL memory has more to do with the compassion of camaraderie. Whether it was running and laughing through a miserable rain storm on the way to testing, singing karaoke in a toga with a fellow CAJCLer, or passionately discussing Roman history to forget the humidity at night, this past Nationals has to be one of my fondest JCL memories.
  • Favorite Quote: “All the things I really like to do are either immoral, illegal, or fattening.” -Alexander Woollcott
  • Favorite Emperor: Claudius! He was the most passionate and intelligent, plus he succeeded despite being ostracized by his family and other powerful Romans.
