Thank you to our Nuntius Editor, Leah Whang, for another edition of our newsletter. And, for all of you returners, welcome back! The 2015-2016 year will be one to remember, with exciting developments already underway for Ludi and SCRAM preparation. All Ludi and SCRAM forms are up! Please register ASAP, because these events are going down in history as the best yet!

Speaking of Ludi and SCRAM, we've got some updates fresh from our Fall meeting! Ludi (AKA Mota Monstrorum), held for the first time ever at the beautiful Stanford campus, will feature pumpkin carving and decorating, monster-themed workshops, and a crazy Project Runway show!  SCRAM at University High will feature an all-day Roman Speed Dating event, TWO sections of Impromptu Art, lunch from Pick-Up Stix, and much much more!  Excited? We'll have more information up soon, so stay posted!

With that, I'd like to conclude with a letter from our State Chair, Martha Altieri. Check out her letter here.

National Convention 2015 Recap

Howdy, California JCLers!

If you haven't heard the news, California JCL rocked it at National Convention this year! All of our delegates not only had a blast, but won a myriad of awards at the National level. Some of the most notable include 3rd place at Advanced Certamen (featuring Elisabeth Siegel, Jon Nozik, Cory Gipson, and Shawn Honaryar), 1st and 2nd place for Promotional Video (for Scott Numamoto's SCRAM video and Madeleine Becker's Convention video respectively), and numerous individual awards for Olympika, Academic Tests, and more! To see a comprehensive list of results, click here. Oh yeah, and we also got a turtle.

Also, congratulations to the new National Communications Coordinator, Jon Nozik! Traditionally, the California delegation has had representation in board at the National level, and it's great to see that tradition perpetuated.

Now, I'd like to present a video created by our Historian, Justin Sung. He did a great job capturing the spirit of NJCL Convention through the stories of the many delegates who attended. We hope to see you all at next year's Convention at Indiana University!
