Salvete! The deadline to apply for the 2016 Wallace and Shickle Scholarship has been extended to February 26th, so it's not too late to be considered for a $2000 scholarship! You can find the application here.
Calder Classics is an educational boutique that runs Reading Latin programs for high school students in Rome, Florence, and Avignon, each with a different focus. In each of their three sites they offer an interdisciplinary course that is grounded in the reading of Latin literature and its relationship with the area. The Rome program focuses on readings about ancient history, the Florence program focuses on local artistic representations of the Latin authors, and the Avignon program focuses on Caesar and the study of his Gallic War. In each location the classes alternate between reading Latin and visiting sites, chosen because of their relationship to the literature.
This year we have added a new Learning to Read Latin program in Florence for students interested in developing their basic Latin skills, and preparing for more advanced courses in school or with Calder Classics.
